A loudspeaker installation is arranged with a loudspeaker unit 1 with a membrane and an acoustic path 5 which is situated on the front of the membrane to guide the sound waves which are emitted from the membrane. The acoustic path 5 is bordered by a sound-absorbent device 4. The space which contains the acoustic path 5 and the sound-absorbent device 4 is divided by a divider 6 which is placed in such a way that at least one part of the sound-absorbent device 4 is exposed to the acoustic path 5. By means of this arrangement resonance peaks and troughs are removed, which peaks and troughs are determined by the length of the acoustic path 5, so that flat sound pressure frequency characteristics can be achieved over a wide range of high frequency tones. <IMAGE>
