PURPOSE:To reduce the width of the front section of a top cowling in an intake- air silencer mounted to each of carburetors which are disposed in a V-shape on a crank casing by allowing an intake-air port of the silencer to open to the crank casing in the trough of the V-shape between the carburetors. CONSTITUTION:In a cross-section of an engine 10, a plurality of cylinder bodies 50 are disposed respectively in V-shape banks. Similarly, a plurality of intake-air passages 34 and a plurality of carburetors 36 are disposed respectively in V- shape banks, symmetrically with the cylinder bodies 50 with respect to a crank shaft 44. Further, each intake-air silencer 38 is mounted to in the front section which is an air inlet port of each of the carburetors 36. The silencer 38 are disposed respectively in V-shape banks. Further, an intake-air port 60 of each silencer 38 is curved inward and is opened to the outer wall of the crank casing 40 in the trough of the V-shape.
