PURPOSE:To obtain a grease composition excellent in resin resistance and having good low-temperature characteristics, by mixing a specified alkali (or alkaline earth) metal salt as thickening agent and an ethylene cooligomer as base oil. CONSTITUTION:This grease composition consists of 5-30wt.% thickening agent comprising an alkali (or alkaline earth) metal salt synthesized from an alkali (or alkaline earth) metal hydroxide and a 10-30C higher fatty acid or 10-30C higher hydroxy fatty acid, and a base oil comprising an ethylene/alpha-olefin cooligomer (having a viscosity at 40 deg.C of 2-25,000 cSt). This composition is excellent in resin resistance and exhibits good low-temperature characteristics when applied to that part of, e.g., an electrical component of an automobile where lubrication is required and to a place near a resin in use. |
