PURPOSE:To obtain a radiation detector having high sensitivity characteristic in all energy bands extending from a low radiation to a high radiation by containing an ionization chamber detector and a solid-state detector in front and in the rear, respectively, in an airtight box filled with gas for absorbing greatly X rays. CONSTITUTION:A box 10 in which an X-ray incident window 10a is formed, and also, which shields a light beam and airtight is filled with Xe gas being gas for absorbing greatly X rays. Subsequently, an ionization chamber detector is constituted by placing alternately a signal electrode 11a, and a high voltage electrode 11b to which a bias voltage HV is applied, along an X-ray incident angle in said box. Also, a solid-state detector is constituted by using the signal electrode 11a and high voltage electrode 11b as a collimator 11, and arranging a scintillator 12 and a photodiode 13 in the rear thereof. In such a way, the radiation detector having a high sensitivity characteristic in all energy bands extending from a low radiation to a high radiation can be obtained.
