The socket part (4) for a plug-in socket, comprising two sealing elements (2), on pipes is reduced, in relation to the values of its radial internal diameter, such that it fulfils the function of the known sealing element (2), consisting of a rigid compensation material (S), of the plug-socket K (or the like) of stoneware pipes and shaped stoneware pieces of the same dimensions. Consequently, the use of said sealing elements (2) can be cut back, in a problem-free and cost-reducing manner, in many applications, in particular in the case of connection pieces, cleaning pipes, grease separators, petrol separators and oil separators, backflow preventers, etc. and - when using the most advanced manufacturing methods - even in the case of standard stoneware pipes and shaped stoneware pieces which are slightly modified in terms of the form of their sockets. <IMAGE>
