Method and device for whirling up the yeast in weiss beer in a barrel

A method and a device are described by means of which the yeast can be taken in suspension during tapping to a weiss beer barrel standing in the refrigerator and can be held there. The weiss beer barrel stands on a flat agitating device which intermittently causes it to rotate about a vertical axis. The barrel is supported by means of a turntable which is initially rotated slowly through a predetermined angle, as a result of which a tension spring is wound up and is then released, so that the tension spring rapidly pulls the turntable back to its starting position. Mounting the barrel on the turntable in an eccentric manner reinforces the extent to which the yeast is whirled up. If necessary, the whirling up action can be accelerated by means of more rapid manual actuation.
