The invention relates to a speed/distance travel sensor using the Doppler principle with microwave radiation in the 24 GHz band for motor vehicle applications. According to the invention, the transmitting section and receiving section, two planar antennas (which are arranged symmetrically with respect to one another) and a printed circuit board which carries the evaluation section and supply section are integrated in a rectangular and flat carrier body. This results in the sensor having a very flat configuration.
