PURPOSE:To prevent dusts from adhering to the face of an orifice by providing tubular air stream generating means having an air inlet port and an air discharge port for discharging input air stream and generating the air stream upon movement of a recording head. CONSTITUTION:Air stream means 3 for generating an air stream toward a medium 4 to be recorded, placed on a platen 5 from an orifice 19 of a recording head 1 is provided. The means 3 has a tubular structure composed of air inlet ports 9a, 9b opened in the scanning direction of a carriage 7, and air discharge ports 10a, 10a for discharging the airs fed from the ports 9a, 9b in the same direction as an ink discharging direction from the orifice. The air fed from the port 9b is discharged from the port 10 in the same direction as the ink discharging direction from the orifice upon movement of the carriage 7. |
