PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of an unerase part by supplying an erasing current to a head for recording and reproducing with a two-head constitution, and further, position-controlling and transporting a magnetic head for 1/3 of a track pitch in a track width direction. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic head 2 with a two-head constitution supplies the erasing current to the magnetic head of one side, and it is moved in the track width direction of a magnetic sheet 1 at the interval of 1/3 of the track pitch of the recording track of the magnetic sheet 1. Namely, the magnetic sheet, to which the erasing current is supplied, is displaced to the center of the recording track width, the erasing is executed widely more than the recording track width, and at the time of erasing a frame recording track, by changing the value of an erasing width in the inner circumference direction and outer circumference direction of the recording track, respectively, the erasing between frame tracks is completely executed. Thus, even when an error is generated to a recording track position due to a compatibility, the temperature characteristic of the magnetic sheet 1, etc., the generation of the unerased part can be prevented. |
