摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To perform a fast recovery processing by assembling the code with variable length of a gradation component in the expansion mode of MR coding, and performing the decoding of the MR code of a resolution component. CONSTITUTION:The decoding of the MR code of the resolution component is performed at an MR decoder 1 by assembling the code with variable length of the gradation components La and Ld in the expansion mode of the MR coding. Therefore, decoded resolution components phi1 and phi2 and non-decoded gradation components La and Ld are outputted from a de-multiplexer 2. Then, the resolution components phi1 and phi2 are stored in a bit map memory 3 as it is, and the gradation components La and Ld are decoded by a variable length decoder circuit 4. Those resolution components phi1 and phi2 and the gradation components La and Ld are reproduced at every image unit by a succeeding image reproduction circuit 5 as image data. In such a way, it is possible to accelerate an image recovery processing.</p>
