POLYESTER FIBER CLOTH WITH GOOD DYEABILITY AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To obtain the title cloth by using such fiber that specifically shaped recesses are dispersed on the fiber surface along the fiber axis and also fine pores of specified size are randomly and innumerably formed on the surface. CONSTITUTION:A polyester polymer containing 0.3-1wt.% of kaolin 0.4-1.5mum in particle size and 0.5-1.5wt.% of silica 10-80nm in particle size is put to melt spinning, and the resultant undrawn yarn 10X10<-3>-45X10<-3> in birefringence is drawn at a ratio 0.55-0.7 times the maximum draw ratio at temperatures higher than the glass transition temperature by 5-40 deg.C followed by heat setting. Thence, a cloth is formed using the fiber produced above and put to weight reduction processing by alkali to form such a cloth that longitudinally extended discontinuous recesses >=5mum in major diameter are dispersed on the fiber surface along the fiber axis and also >=50% of the whole fiber surface area are randomly covered with fine pores <5mum in size, thus obtaining the objective cloth.
