PURPOSE:To obtain a polyester fiber with resistance to washing, excellent hygroscopicity and heat resistance and high Young's modulus suitable for inner fields, etc., and containing respectively specified polyoxyalkylene glycol and sulfonic metal salt in a specified ratio. CONSTITUTION:For example, a polyoxyalkylene glycol and a sulfonic metal salt are blended in polymerization of a polyester and a polyester fiber containing a polyoxyalkylene glycol with >=50wt.% oxyethylene unit and 300-3000, preferably 300-2000 number-average molecular weight in an amount of 0.5-10.0wt.% based on fiber weight and a sulfonic acid [e.g., 3,5-di(carbomethoxy)benzene sulfonic metal salt] linked with a metal atom (e.g., Mn) with >=1.5 hydration index represented by the formula in an amount of >=0.1g ion, preferably >=0.25g ion as the above-mentioned metal atom based on 1kg fiber weight is produced by copolymerization. |
