PURPOSE:To utilize external data in read time by transferring an external data file between plural systems and incorporating external data in other systems in its own system. CONSTITUTION:An A system 1 which comes to require a B file in a B device 24 in a B system 2 receives the B file in the format of an external data file through an on-line line 3 and develops it on an A device 14. In this transfer, a file transfer means 21 divides the B file into constant-length blocks, adds data transfer heads to the respective blocks, and assembles an external data file, which is sent to the A system 1 in block units. A file transfer means 11 receives this external data file, and constitutes a B file, which is stored on the device 14. When an A terminal 13 makes a request to refer to the B file transferred as mentioned above, the B file is edited by an external data editing means 12, outputted to the terminal 13, and utilized.
