ORGANIC ELECTROLYTE BATTERY

PURPOSE:To unify the black mix coating quantity on a positive electrode plate and obtain a battery with uniform electric characteristics by employing the positive electrode plate for a cylindrical lithium battery using specific stainless steel. CONSTITUTION:An electrode plate group spirally constituted of a positive electrode 3 formed in a sheet shape using manganese dioxide as an active materiel and a negative electrode 2 using sheet-shaped metal lithium as an active material via a separator 6 is provided. Stainless steel with the Vickers hardness of 160-200 and the elongation percentage of 5% or below at the time of lathe machining, e.g., ferrite stainless SUS434 or its equivalent, is lathe-machined for use as a current collector for the positive electrode. The apparent thickness and elongation percentage of the current collector after lathe machining are made uniform, and the dispersion of the black mix coating quantity for a unit area of the current collector is decreased when the black mix is further coated. The dispersion of discharge characteristics can be thereby decreased.
