PURPOSE:To perform conversion at a high speed without increasing circuit quantity, in a serial dot matrix printer whose printing head is made rotatable, by constituting a memory element storing a value converted to the drive data corresponding to the shift quantity of a printing element from printing data. CONSTITUTION:Printing data is set to the first latch circuit 2 and the memory head address of drive data is set to the second latch circuit 3 while an address having the address correction value determined on the basis of the angle of a printing head stored therein is set to the third latch circuit 12. Next, a timing generating part 6 is operated, and the content of the second latch circuit 11 and the output of an address correction memory part 10 are added by an adder 9 and the obtained value is given to a memory element 1 as an address. The memory element 1 executes reading operation in the timing from the timing generating part 6 and this value is inputted to a selector 3. The selector 3 selects the data of the first latch circuit 2 and the reading data of the memory element 1 to respectively output the first and second bit data on the basis of said data of both of the latch circuit 2 and the memory element 1. |
