The phase windings of a small AC generator are formed in two sections (2a,2b), one displaced one pole pitch from the other. These two winding sections are placed on a coil insertion machine and fitted into the slots in the stator core (1). A similar sequence is followed for the second and third phases, except that these are displaced to give the required phase angle relationships. The windings are preferably wave sindings formed by a continuous conductor in each section of each phase. |
