The method for manufacturing a heat radiation type cathode comprises the steps of making a circumference part of a cathode cap (4) thinner than a center part of the cathode cap by pressing, inserting a sleeve (3) into the pressed cathode cap, deepdrawing the sleeve and the cathode cap, and welding the sleeve toward the cathode cap's center. The upper part of the sleeve, within which a heater is installed, is melt-bonded between the center part and circumferential part of the cathode cap and shielded by the circumferential part, so that the heat radiation efficiency can be improved.
