PURPOSE:To make possible the recovery action of a recording head without any subsequently significant displacement of an ink receiving member by allowing a recording head to be parked from its recording position and at the same time, providing the ink receiving member near the recording head so that the ink receiving member can be moved to a space from which the recording head is parked. CONSTITUTION:When a recording head 1 is recovered, it is parked from its recording position against a material to be recorded on by a head movement means 24. Next, a liquid receiving member 3 is moved to a space generated by the parking by a liquid receiving member movement means 25, so that the member is set to a position where it receives the discharged recording liquid. Consequently, the quick recovery action of the recording head without any significant displacement of the liquid receiving member is ensured. |
