PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating method of a vehicle exterior member which preferably processes coating unevenness occurring near a contact portion between a jig and the vehicle exterior member so that the coating unevenness does not stand out in an unsightly state.SOLUTION: A coating method of a vehicle exterior member has: a coating step in which a wet coating film 4 is formed on a surface part 10 of a vehicle exterior member 1 in a state where the vehicle exterior member 1 is supported by a jig 2; and a heating step where the coating film 4 is heated. In the vehicle exterior member 1, a character line 12 having a recessed shape or a protruding shape is formed on the surface part 10 and a protruding part 13 or a recessed part, which corresponds to the character line 12, is formed on a rear surface part 11. In the coating step and the heating step, the vehicle exterior member 1 is supported by fitting the jig 2 into the protruding part 13 or the recessed part provided at the rear surface part 11.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
