bstract: A process for controlling a press suitable for producing moulded products, particularly products formed from rapidlyhardening mouldable materials. The process involves applying a counter-force opposing the main moulding force during the moulding operation. The counter-force varies from about 25% of the moulding force at the beginning of the moulding operation to about 2% of the moulding force at the end of the moulding operation (static press phase). The variable counter-force induces a dynamic behaviour that permits better tolerances and surface qualities of the moulded products, and permits a reduction of the total pressing force.
