SMEAR APPARATUS OF RADIOACTIVE WASTE DRUM, RADIOACTIVE INTENSITY MEASURING APPARATUS AND INSPECTION INSTALLATION EQUIPPED WITH BOTH APPARATUSES

PURPOSE:To reduce the exposure of a worker and to enhance working efficiency by recovering the smear filter paper used in the wiping-off of the contaminant on the surface of a drum and inspecting the surface contamination density of the drum in a full-automatic manner. CONSTITUTION:A radioactive waste drum 1 is placed on a drum support apparatus to be rotated in the peripheral direction thereof. A smear head 56 is relatively moved in the axial direction of the drum 1 in a side surface wiping-off smear apparatus to smear the side surface of the drum 1 and, in respective upper and under surface wiping-off smear apparatuses, smear heads 56 are relatively moved in the diameter direction of the drum 1 to smear the upper and under surfaces of the drum 1. When smear work is completed, smear filter paper having contaminant collected thereby is recovered by a filter paper recovery apparatus to be sent to a contamination density measuring apparatus and new filter paper is supplied to the smear head by a filter paper supply apparatus. The supply and separation of the filter paper are simply performed by the suction and discharge of air and the inspection control of the drum is efficiently performed to make it possible to reduce the exposure of a worker.
