<p>The residue or residue fraction left behind during vacuum distillation in a crude oil refinery is further processed, in that it undergoes thin-film short-path distillation at a higher temperature and under a fine vacuum. Raising the temperature leads to a rise in the feed rate and to an improvement in the distillate/residue ratio.</p> |
