PURPOSE:To prevent the occurrence of wrinkles on the outer surface of a skin body, and thereby facilitate processing by housing and holding the skin body in a metal mold after a core material larger than the skin body in length has been inserted into the skin body which is formed into a cylindrical shape in advance, and thereby injecting a resin material into the inside of the skin body from the open end of the skin body so as to be molded. CONSTITUTION:A skin member 1 composed of vinyl leather, cloth and the like to which a sponge material 2 is adhered, is formed into a skin body 3 so as to be rolled up, the lapped section 4 of it is fixed in such a way that it is formed into a cylindrical shape by means of thermal susion, seam welding and the like so that a metallic core member 5 formed in a specified shape is inserted into the inside of the skin body 3. Since the core member 5 is of continuous length, the end sections 6 of it are protruded out of the both ends of the skin body 3. In the second place, the skin body 3 combined with the core member 5 is housed in the lower mold 9 of a metal mold 8, an upper mold 14 is piled up on the lower mold 9, then, a weakly fused resin material is injected into the inside of the skin body 3 through the injection hole 15 of a gate block 12. After the resin material 18 has hardened, an assist grip A is thereby taken out with the upper mold 14 opened.
