The present invention describes a catalyst comprising a porous support containing at least one particle composed of a seed in the form of a metal or oxide nanoparticle and metal nanorods, said particle having a "sea urchin" morphology composed of at least three metal nanorods linked together by a seed, said metal nanorods comprising at least one metal from group VIIIB of the periodic table of the elements, and said seed comprising at least one metal from group VIIIB, IB and IIB of the periodic table of the elements. The invention also relates to the method for preparing said catalyst and the use of same in a Fischer-Tropsch process.
