Recovery of a plasma protein concentrate (PPC) from animal blood is effected by (a) adding an anticoagulant to blood collected under sterile conditions in a slaughterhouse, (b) sepg. the blood plasma, and (c) concentrating the plasma in a series of ultrafiltration units. USE/ADVANTAGE - The PPC is suitable for human nutrition. It has a solids content of 22-23%, a protein content of 20-22% and a low salt content. |
