PURPOSE:To obviate the generation of offset development and to improve wear resistance and durability by providing a specific fluoroplastic layer obtd. by calcining and melt bonding after smoothing by pressing on the surface of the fixing roll. CONSTITUTION:After a primer is applied on a hollow arbor, a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) resin liquid is applied thereon. This coating is dried to form the dry film of the fluoroplastic and thereafter, a metallic pressing roll having a specular surface is pressed under a prescribed pressure to the arbor. The arbor is rotated and the pressing roll is axially moved to finish the dry film of the fluoroplastic to a specular surface. The fluoroplastic layer is formed to <=3.5mum surface roughness Rz, <50% brightness and >=115 deg. contact angle of water. The fixing roll having a broad non-offsetting temp. region and the good wear resistance and durability is obtd. in this way. |
