Applicable ionophores are amides of the general formula I (I) wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 e.g. are alkyl, cyclohexyl, phenyl or benzyl and X is alkylene with -CH2-groups being replaced by -O-, 1,2-phenylene or 1,2-cyclohexylene.
