Disclosed is a method of shaping a post, a post and an apparatus for shaping a post. The disclosure notes that due to the operation of machinery, posts are often damaged and are costly to replace. The present method and portable or transportable apparatus allows a damaged post to be reshaped and reused. The method comprises reducing the perimeter of a portion of a post to form a shaped post (2). The shaped post (2) has a first portion (3) with a first perimeter (4) and a second portion (5) with a second perimeter (6). The second perimeter (6) is smaller than the first perimeter (4).
