PURPOSE:To simplify installation of a water pump to reduce noise in an engine cooling device of a motorcycle, by forming a mounting recessed part for mounting the water pump on the side of a cylinder head by spigot-jointing, and driving the water pump by a cam shaft. CONSTITUTION:A mounting recessed part 18 is formed on the side of a cylinder head 12, a mounting part 19a of an inside case 19 of a water pump 17 is spigot- jointed with the mounting recessed part 18, and the spigot-jointed part is sealed by a sealing member 20. To the inside case 19 an outside case 21 is joined, and the inside case 19 and the outside case 21 are fastened and fixed to the side of the cylinder head 12 with bolts 22 to form a pump room 23 inside the cases. In the pump room 23, pump blades 24 are arranged and forced onto a pump shaft 25, and fixed to it. A pump gear 30 is fixed to the pump shaft 25, and engaged with a drive gear 32 mounted to one end of a cam shaft 31. A cam drive gear 33 is provided to the other end of the cam shaft 31 and connected through a cam chain 33 to a crankshaft. |
