APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING THE REPLAY OF A MAGNETIC TAPE Apparatus for controlling the replay of a magnetic tape is disclosed which comprises a presenter unit 1 which includes a video player 4 and monitor 5, connected to a micro computer 3 via an interface 2, and a coaxial connection 7. The apparatus provides an authorizing facility for a video tape to be palyed by the player 4, so that an operator may use the computer 3 to store, in a computer file, informatin associated with different sections of the video tape so that under computer control, the video player can be instructed by a subsequent user to wind to a predetermined section of the video tape, play the section and return to a predetermined start point. The video player 4 is controlled directly by the computer 3 and does not take any ou?ing information from the tape itself, thus minimising wear of the tape. A preferred feature of the apparatus is that the operator may also add textual information to be displayed on the monitor screen when the video player 4 is winding to the section to be played and rewinding therefrom.
