PURPOSE:To prevent abnormal wear after the middle stahe of wear, and improve cornering performance on the icy and snowy road by allowing the density of kerfs arranged in the shoulder part of a tread to be difference from each other in plural width regions, tilting the kerfs, and allowing some of the curfs to be shallow in the width region with high density of curfs. CONSTITUTION:On the tread 1 of a tire, blocks 6, 7 are formed by lateral grooves crossing main grooves 2, 3. In the block 7 on the shoulder part S side, a number of kerfs 8 extending in the circumferential direction of the tire are provided. In this case, with the density of the kerfs 8 across the width of the tire, the density (rhoo) in the half-width region (o) on the shoulder part S side is taken greater than the density (rhoi) on the half-width region (i) on the center part C side. Besides, the kerfs 8 are tilted to the shoulder part S side at a tilt angle alpha to a profile normal line 10 perpendicular to the tangent 9 to the tread 1. Further, some of the kerfs 8 provided in the above region (o) are allowed to be shallowed, and their depth d2 is set to be about the half of a maximum depth d1. |
