PURPOSE:To attain the high speed of the retrieving processing of a dictionary by reducing the number of times of operating both a reading operation and an coincidence detecting operation, and operating a reading means, detecting means, and decision means independently. CONSTITUTION:Candidate elements obtained after adding one character of a character bank to which a reference number is applied, which is different with each other, as an escape character, are divided into plural groups based on the escape character. And also, both the reference number which is applied to one of the candidate elements that belong to each group, and identification information corresponding to this candidate element, are stored in an index 111, according to information concerning the reference number and the escape character. Then, the reference number which is applied to one of the other candidate elements that belong to the same group with the candidate element to which this reference number is applied, and the information corresponding to this candidate element, are stored in a list 112, according to the reference number. Thus, the identification information corresponding to the candidate elements connected by a pointer, for example, the escape characters, are successively read out from the list 112, following the index 111. |
