PURPOSE: To perform control at high rate of algorithm while reducing the size and weight of control system and power consumption by reducing the amount of calculation of algorithm required for determining a correct control operation to be performed. CONSTITUTION: The control system comprises a control technology having a short cycle time as compared with the delayed neutron lifetime in a reactor. An actuator or the technology can be employed together with a which can increment a parameter by a predetermined unit amount. The motion and the position of the stepping driver or a unit mounted on the actuator can be used for varying the reactivity of the reactor or other several parameters having effect thereon. After determining the numeral values indicative of the state of system in one cycle time, a decision is made whether the stepping driver must or must not add or subtract the parameters of the reactivity of the reactor.
