PURPOSE:To improve friction performance by providing a lubricating film formed of a soln. prepd. by dissolving a deriv., such as polyether having perfluoroalkylene, into a solvent having 70 to 150 deg.C b. p. on a magnetic layer of a continuous thin film type. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic layer 3 of the continuous thin film type is provided on a rigid substrate 2 of the recording medium 1 and the lubricating film 4 is formed thereon. A coating method, Langmuir-Blodgett method, etc., may be used to form this lubricating film 4. The soln. of the polyether having perfluoroalkylene and/or its deriv.is first prepd. at the time of forming the film. The solvent having 70 to 150 deg.C b. p. is used as the solvent for this soln. The uniform film quality is obtd. and the durability of the coefft. of friction is critically improved if the b. p. of the solvent is >=70 deg.C. |
