PURPOSE:To record on various kinds of recording papers excellently by providing adjusting means for adjusting a position of a record head or a mounting member on a support member so as to adjust a distance between the record head and a record medium. CONSTITUTION:When a comparatively this recording paper is to be conveyed, as for a displacement of a pinch roller 607 to be generated by the thickness of the recording paper between the pinch roller 607 and a paper convey roller 606, only a pinch roller holder 611 undergoes a displacement upward so as to be absorbed. When the recording paper is comparatively thick, the displacement of the pinch roller 607 can not be absorbed entirely by the displacement due to the rotation of the pinch roller holder 611. The pinch roller holder 611 undergoes a further displacement in accordance with the displacement of the pinch roller 607. An end 611A of the pinch roller holder 611 is struck to a carriage rail 613 so as to be pushed up against the elastic force of a spring 631. Since the carriage rail 613 is abutting against a carriage body 201 or a press member 211A in accordance with a position of a position lever 211, a carriage 200 i.e. a record head 1 undergoes a displacement in accordance with the displacement of the carriage rail 613. |
