PURPOSE:To provide a recording device which is small and has enough function by a method wherein a carriage is brought into a state to be rotatable around a carriage guide shaft or a shaft paralleling the guide shaft togetherwith a recording head. CONSTITUTION:A recording sheet fed in the direction of an arrow mark A through a feed port 3 along a hopper wire 4 is fed onto a platen 8 along a guide plate 9 by means of a feed roller 5 and a pinch roller 7A. Since a sheet press plate 10 formed of a leaf spring is mounted on the guide plate 9, a recording sheet delivered onto the platen 8 is guided to a recording position in a state that it is lightly pressed against the platen 8 by means of the press plate 10. A recording head 11 is fixed to a carriage 12, which is movable along a guide shaft 13. The carriage 12 is moved in a direction, extending at right angles with the feed direction of the recording sheet, through a belt with the aid of a stepping motor for driving the carriage. During the movement of the carriage, ink is discharged at a given timing toward the recording sheet through the ink discharge port of the recording head 11 to carry out recording. |
