The gameboard has 16 basic squares, making one large square, with perpendicular lines intersecting the corners of the 16 squares. 36 game pieces are provided, consisting of 34 pawn type pieces, and 2 kings. 17 pawns and 1 king are of a light color, while 17 pawns and one king are of a dark color. Two players may play the game of SPARRING, flipping a coin as to who starts first.
