<p>A process for the cooling of and the removal of dust from high-temperature coke in at least two stages, whereby the coke is cooled in the first stage to less than about 800 DEG C. In this first cooling stage (1), the coke is cooled to a temperature of between 200 DEG and 800 DEG C, and preferably to between about 400 and 650 DEG C; it is then quickly and continuously drawn through a water bath (8), after which it is held in the steam-laden atmosphere of a sealed re-evaporation chamber (14).</p> |
