PURPOSE: To provide a chair designed so that the user can take a more favorable position for writing or typing or so that it can be tilted slightly backward to a resting position by rotating a seat unit forward or rotating a backrest by a controlled size relative to a seat. CONSTITUTION: A seat 1b and a backrest 1a are freely rotationally connected together by hinges 100, and two pairs of legs 4, 6 and a seat unit 1 are freely slidingly connected together by joints 2, 3 and engaged with each other by means of plug parts 4a, 4b provided on the legs, with the legs 4, 6 made to slide against each other by another joint 7 and including a guide means 5a for sliding the leg 6 against the seat. The joints are placed on a single axis, and pushing action caused by the user and actual opening and closing of the chair result in substantially continuous adjustment of the relative inclinations of the seat and the backrest. |
