PURPOSE:To efficiently transport unused thermal energy by putting in a large container capsules in which aqueous solution into which specific chemicals have been mixed and dissolved and introducing heat transfer fluids into the large containder to store latent heat. CONSTITUTION:An aqueous solution mixed with various kinds of chemicals for accelerating a uniform freezing reaction at predetermined temperature is sealed in capsules 3. A capsule type heat exchanger 1 wherein a large number of capsules are received in a large container 2 is provided and heat transfer fluids are introduced into the container 2 through inlet and outlet nozzles 6 of the container 2. By freezing the aqueous solutions sealed in the capsules by means of said fluids, latent heat of the capsules 3 is stored and said fluids are discharged from the exchanger 1. Next, the exchanger 1 in which latent heat has been stored is transported to an destination, where heat transfer fluids are introduced into the exchanger 1 to melt the freezed solution in the capsules 3 thereby recovering the latent heat stored through the heat transfer fluids. |
