A expression vector for human epidermal growth factor (EGF) is prepd. by (a) treating human insulin-like growth factor-I expression vector with Pst I and Sal I to obtain gene fragment (I) contg. termination gene of glucoaldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH), and with Xba I and Pst I to obtain the gene fragment (II) contg. leader sequence of alph factor and mixed operation gene of alcohol dehydrogenase/glucoaldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (ADH/GAPDH), (b) treating human EGF expression vector with Xba I and Sal I to obtain the EGF gene fragment (III) contg. alpha factor of carboxy terminus of base fair and (c) ligating (I), (II) and (III). The obtd. human EGF expression vector is composed of ADH-2/GAPDH mixed operation gene, alpha factor leader sequence, human EGF gene and GAPDH termination gene.
