PURPOSE:To increase torque for speed changes while using a small actuator and also to enable the increase of time lag up to the finish of a shift to be restrained under normal conditions by changing the lever ratio of an actuator side first lever to an automatic transmission side second lever when needed. CONSTITUTION:In the case of switching P to D when parking a car on a slope, a solenoid 37 is turned on in response to an actuation indicating signal from a shift control unit 9. Then a solenoid pin 39 protrudes and moves a moving member 33 toward the center of a step motor 11 against the energizing force of a spring 35 and locates the member 33 at an inward position (b). The motor 11 is then actuated in response to an actuation indicating signal from the unit 9 and a select range lever 3 is put in a turning movement up to a shift position via a motor lever 13 and a cable 15. In that case, large torque for speed changes is obtained by an increase in lever ratio and a smooth shift is achieved. A normal time lag can be obtained by returning the lever ratio to its initial level. |
