PURPOSE: To provide a multipurpose file which can be assembled into a loose leaf file or a box file. CONSTITUTION: A cardboard blank 10 is divided into cover sections 16, 18 and a spine portion 20, between both the sections 16, 18, by a plurality of fold lines, and three fold lines 62, 64, 66 are provided on the portion 20 to define a binding zone 22 which can be formed as a double thickness ridge to which papers can be attached. Further, the fold lines define various flaps which can be folded flat onto the cover sections to form a loose leaf file or which can extend to form a box shape with the cover sections and spine portion.
