METHOD FOR PREPARATION OF HYALURONATE AND MICROORGANISMS

A hyaluronic acid is prepd. by (a) fermenting streptococcus equi.PCI 106, KFCC-10700 at 30-40 deg.C for 25 hrs. or less in the medium contg. glucose, veal infusion broth, phosphate salt, ammonium sulfate, yeast extract and (b) collecting hyaluronic acid (M.W. is 1,500,000 or more) from the culture broth to obtain the final product in high yield. New streptococcus equi PCI 106 is prepd. by mutating streptoccus sp.. The obtd. hyaluronic acid is useful for the prodn. of cosmetics and drugs.
