PURPOSE:To execute the detection of a focused point by combining focus detections of different systems in order to execute it at a high speed and with high without providing a memory of a large capacity in a photographing optical system. CONSTITUTION:A light distribution of an object to be photographed from a photographing optical system 11 is converted to an electric signal distribution by a photoelectric converting element 13 through an auxiliary optical system 12, and also, a specific frequency component is extracted in a frequency detecting circuit 14. Based on frequency information detected twice or more at an interval of prescribed optical path length, a focused point adjacent position of the photographing optical system 11 is derived by a first focused point detecting circuit 15, and while driving the photographing optical system 11, a true focused point is detected by a second focused point detecting circuit 16, based on an output of the frequency detecting circuit 14. Based on focused point adjacent position information from a first focused point detecting circuit 15, the photographing optical system 11 is driven to the focused point adjacent position by a photographing optical system driving circuit 18, and based on focused point information of a second focused point detecting circuit 16, the photographing optical system 11 is driven to the focused point. |
