The invention concerns a layout for heating of metal by a magnetic field, which layout has an element 10 for generating an alternating magnetic field and for conducting this magnetic field through various metal pieces for even heating of them. This differs from heating of metal pieces by induction heating, since the heating of the piece occurs evenly instead of being limited to the surface of the piece and its projecting parts. This heating is done by using a new magnetic loop for generating an alternating magnetic field with high density in the metal piece being heated. <IMAGE>
