Apparatus harnessing the principle of biofeedback in order quickly to minimise the overhigh pulse of an untrained subject as compared with an athlete. It includes earphones 70 for exhibiting tone pulses in the rhythm of the heart, originating from a modulated generator 50 and a reference generator 60. The modulated pitch measures the present pulse, by virtue of a control unit 40 initialised by a shaper 30 triggered by the R-ECG wave conditioned by an acquisition unit 20. The reference pitch can be readjusted downwards between tests, with the aid of a pulse monitor 80. <IMAGE>
