An adjustable mechanism for feeding cardboard sheets from which boxes are formed has two pairs of vacuum suction pads (1), mounted on oppositely threaded sections of spindle assemblies (3) and (4) linked by chain transmission (5). Rotation of the spindles (3, 4) by a handle at (9) adjusts the spacing of the suction pad pairs without the need to stop the assembly machine. The suction pads are movable vertically (Figure 3) to separate the sheets from the bottom of a pile. The machine also has a device for lifting the laps (S) of sheets to form the boxes. The lap lifting device comprises a strip (31) on arms (30) which are tilted by pneumatic cylinders (25) to push the laps (S) to their predetermined position according to the format and dimensions of the cardboard sheets. Manual rotation of spindles 35 adjusts the positioning of the lap lifting device along those spindles. <IMAGE> |
