PURPOSE:To provide the taillight which is thin and has uniform light emission brightness by utilizing a plasma display panel. CONSTITUTION:A back plate 1 and a glass plate 2 are held at an equal interval, their peripheries are sealed, and gas consisting principally of neon is charged therein. Two electrodes 4 and 5 are installed in the flat plate type discharge space which is thus formed and the entire space is discharged by external voltage application to illuminate. Consequently, the whole flat plate type lamp emits red light in the principle of a plasma display, so the taillight which has a uniform light emission distribution is realized. Further, this taillight contributes to the expansion of the spaces in the trunk room and room of an automobile because of the thin structure of the taillight main body. |
