An ethylene glycol dispersion of crystalline calcium carbonate is obtained by carbonation in an ethylene glycol system. The dispersion may be filtered. washed, and dried to obtain a crystalline calcium carbonate, which can incorporated in a polyester film. Alternatively, the calcium carbonate, after being surface treated with a phosphate, etc. to enhance the affinity with the plastic, may be incorporated in a plastic molded product.
